
Micoy De La Fuente graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo De Manila University School of Law. He specializes in Taxation and Corporate Practice. Notable representations made by Micoy in the field of taxation include:
1) Representation of various multinational companies before the Court of Tax Appeals for tax credit and refund cases as well as cases for cancellation of tax assessment, and advised various clients in tax audit process and tax compliance;
2) Representation of a publicly-listed Universal bank in the settlement of an assessment for deficiency internal revenue taxes in the amount of USD 100 million, reducing the total amount of liability to USD 760,000;
3) Representation of a publicly-listed Universal bank in the settlement of an assessment for deficiency internal revenue taxes in the amount of USD 14 million, reducing the total amount of liability to USD 925,000; and
4) Representation of a shipping company in the settlement of an assessment for deficiency internal revenue taxes in the amount of USD 18.5 million.
Micoy also serves as a general counsel for a group of Philippine companies engaged in gaming and leisure operations and advises a domestic outsourcing information technology firm in connection with its initial public offer of 20 million common shares. He is also currently a Director of Rural Bank of Atimonan.
